A recent study published in the Journal of nutrition and intermediate metabolism (Nutrition & Intermediary Metabolism) found that resveratrol is beneficial to the expansion of brain blood vessels and the circulation of the brain blood in patients with type II diabetes.

In this study, researchers from the University of news Carle and the University of Swinburne science and technology in Australia identified the best dose of resveratrol to help improve vasodilatation, especially in the brain of patients with type II diabetes. Current studies suggest that type II diabetes is usually accompanied by endothelial dysfunction and subclinical cognitive impairment.

Previous studies conducted by the team have shown that resveratrol can improve vascular function in the circulatory system. Accordingly, the researchers concluded that resveratrol can also promote blood circulation in the brain. The new study recruited 36 patients aged 40 to 80 years of age II diabetes, randomly using 75mg, 150mg, 300mg synthetic trans resveratrol, or placebo, once a week. The researchers used cranial Doppler ultrasonography to detect the vasodilator response to hypercapnia. Hypercapnia stimulation involves breathing high-carbon gases (such as 95% O2 + 5% CO2) for three minutes, 45 minutes before and after the use of a supplement or placebo.

The results showed that the central arterial blood vessels in the left and right brain of the resveratrol supplement group showed vasodilatation, and the effect of the 75mg dose group was the best. Previous studies have shown that enhanced vasodilation is effective in alleviating endothelial dysfunction and subclinical cognitive impairment.

Other health benefits of resveratrol:

Previously, resveratrol research focuses on cardiovascular health and longevity. In fact, resveratrol has many other health benefits, such as:

Helps reduce blood pressure: resveratrol's antioxidant potential has potential to reduce blood pressure. He can also help reduce blood pressure by increasing nitric oxide and relaxing blood vessels.

Beneficial to blood lipids: multiple animal studies have confirmed that resveratrol supplements can regulate blood lipids in a healthy way. As an antioxidant, he can also reduce the oxidation of LD cholesterol.

Protection of the brain: many studies have shown that drinking red wine containing resveratrol helps to slow down the cognitive decline of aging. This protective effect may be related to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. In addition, resveratrol should pay attention to the protection of damaged brain cells.

Increased insulin sensitivity: a number of animal studies suggest that resveratrol can provide multiple benefits for diabetics, such as increasing insulin sensitivity and preventing diabetic complications. Resveratrol prevents oxidation, thereby inhibiting the progression of certain diabetic complications; it also helps reduce inflammation and inhibits the progression of chronic diseases.

Relieving joint pain: resveratrol can help prevent cartilage rupture and relieve joint pain. Cartilage rupture is one of the causes of joint pain, and it is also one of the main symptoms of arthritis.

Inhibition of cancer cells: Based on animal and in vitro studies, resveratrol helps block cancer cell activity.
